Wells Barrens Reserve

Join us at the 367-acre Wells Barrens Preserve in southern Maine. The Preserve contains a variety of rare, fire-adapted plant communities, including sandplain grasslands, blueberry heath barrens, and pitch pine woodlands. The Nature Conservancy manages the property with periodic prescribed burns to maintain these communities and the rare flora and fauna that they support. Our walk will take us on flat and gently sloping sandy trails.
